Teen Health 101 hosts various webinars covering topics related to healthcare careers, pre-med, as well as medical school with panelists that have first-hand experience! The webinars feature personal experience from the panelists and a Q&A section for participant engagement. If you have any interest in health or a medicine-related field, check out the events below!

Past Events

Dermatology 101

July 9th from 7 to 7:40 PM EST

Calling all prospective dermatology students & health professionals! On Friday, July 9th, from 7PM - 7:40PM EST, Teen Health 101 hosted a ZOOM webinar/Q&A with an experienced dermatologist. They talked about their experiences and gave advice on all aspects of programs relating to dermatology and the profession itself. This was an excellent opportunity for students to learn and ask questions about dermatology programs and seek guidance on how to become a dermatologist in an engaging environment that cannot be experienced through websites. The event counseled attendees on how to become a successful licensed dermatologist while the speakers shared their own experiences.

We featured one panelist :

  • Dr. Lauren Meshkov Bonati - A board certified Dermatologist and Mohs surgeon from Edwards, Colorado

This was be a 40 minute event held on ZOOM where a Dermatologist explained, describds, and discussed her journey, her experiences, tips and tricks and so much more! This was a perfect opportunity for high school students to ask questions (we had a special Q&A session!), engage, and get to know more about dermatology as a profession! 

Psychology 101

June 4th from 5 to 5:40 PM EST

Calling all prospective psychology students & health professionals! On Friday, June 4th from 5PM - 5:40 PM EST, Teen Health 101 hosted a ZOOM webinar/Q&A with a licensed psychologist. Justin talked about his experiences and advice on everything regarding programs and the profession. This was an excellent opportunity for students to learn and ask questions about psychology programs and how to become a psychologist. The event allowed attendees to get advice on how to successfully become a licensed psychologist in an engaged environment rather than through a website. 

 

We featured one panelist :

  • ​Justin Puder, Ph.D. - A Licensed Private Practice Psychologist from Boca Raton, FL

This was a 40/50 minute event (depending on if you're an ambassador) held on ZOOM where a Psychologist explained, described, and discussed his journey, his experience, tips and tricks and so much more! 

Nursing 101

April 25th from 5 to 6:30 PM EST

Calling all prospective nursing students & health professionals! On Sunday, April 25th, from 5PM - 6:30PM EST, Teen Health 101 hosted a ZOOM webinar/Q&A with two experienced nurses.

We featured two panelists:

 

  1.  Brennan Belliveau - A travel RN currently working in San Francisco, USA 

  2.  Amber G - A NICU RN from Maryland, USA

​

This was a 1 hour and 30 minute event held on ZOOM where two RNs explained, described, and discussed their journey, their experience, tips and tricks and so much more! 

Med 101

February 26th from 4 PM - 5 PM EST

Calling all prospective medical students & healthcare professionals! On Friday, February 26th, from 4 PM - 5 PM EST, Teen Health 101 hosted a ZOOM webinar/Q&A with two medical students from US/Canada! Two students studying

in medical school talked about their experiences and gave advice on everything regarding medical school through ZOOM.

We featured two panelists:

 

  1.  Kristen Purcell - a 3rd-year medical student at the Midwestern University

  2.  JR Smith - a 1st-year medical student at Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine

​

This was an 1 hour event held on ZOOM where 2 medical students studying medicine, explained, described and discussed  their journey through pre-med, their experience, tips and tricks, MCAT, and so much more! 

International Med 101

January 10th from 6 PM - 7 PM BST

An 1 hour event held on ZOOM where medical students taking the 5 year medical course (Non-American), explained and described their journey, experience, tips and tricks, and more! This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about what medical school entails!

We featured two panelists:

  1.  Archisha Marya - 1st year student at the University of Liverpool, UK

  2. Juveria Hasan - Student at Masaryk University, Czech Republic

Pre-Med 101

October 24th, from 3 PM - 4 PM EST

Calling all prospective pre-med students! On Saturday, October 24th from 3-4 PM EST, Teen Health 101 hosted a webinar with two pre-med students! Two students studying pre-med talked about their experiences and provided advice on everything pre-med. This is a perfect opportunity for high school students to  get to know pre-med outside of basic information found on a website.

  2. Juhi Chandrabhatla  - Junior at Virginia Tech
